The advantages of using courier company software

If you’re shipping the odd item then you won’t really need any special software as you won’t require a contract with a courier firm. You can instead go with different couriers depending on your needs, spreading your favours between UPS, DHL and other firms.
However, if you ship a lot of goods and have a contract with one particular firm, then they are likely to provide you with their own software. This will be used for producing shipping labels and may also have built-in tracking as well.

This is hugely advantageous. Having the ability to print labels yourself streamlines the shipping process immensely, particularly once you have got used to using one particular system. Soon enough it will all be second nature and the bags and boxes will be piling up ready for collection.

Being able to track packages at the click of a mouse button is also a boon. You don’t need to ferret around looking for a tracking number you’ve made a note of somewhere. You can instead search for the delivery address and find all relevant shipments, checking their delivery statuses that way. If you ship goods in volume, courier company software makes life a great deal easier.
