DHL Express expands facilities and courier services in Austria

By expanding its express delivery times DHL Express Austria hopes to attract more customers in the Alpine region. Parcels may now be delivered before 9am, 10.30am and noon. Beyond that, DHL Express recently consolidated all of its sites in Austria.

"The consolidation of the sites, and thus the production process, was the basis for our Express offensive. The allows us to expand our national time-definite delivery options, and where we've been able to introduce it we've recorded a very positive, double-digit growth", said Ralf Schweighofer, managing director at DHL Express Austria.

As part of the consolidation process, a EUR 300,000 conveyor system was installed at the DHL Salzburg / Anthering site in order to support the handling and growth of international consignments. Booking or processing activities have been optimised by combining them in one system. The company also recently invested about EUR 5 million into its new headquarters in Guntramsdorf.
